Khabarovsk is administrative industrial scientific centre of the Far-Eastern region.

Khabarovsk is located in the centre of the airways and railway transport roads on the right bank of the Amur River and the Amur Channel nearby the Chinese border. There are two airports, railroad passenger terminal, four railway stations, and river port inside the city. The territory of the city is 386 km², the population is more than 600 000 people.
